Keep it fun, keep it in check
LineScout is built for entertainment and information. Betting should be a form of fun you can comfortably afford — never a way to make money, recover losses, or escape stress.
Need to talk to someone? Help is free and confidential.
The National Council on Problem Gambling runs a 24/7 helpline, every day of the year:
Call or text 1-800-522-4700
You can also chat confidentially online at ncpgambling.org/chat. Support is available whether the concern is about you or someone you care about.
Our ground rules
- 21 and over. Sports betting is for adults of legal age — 21+ in most U.S. jurisdictions. LineScout is not intended for anyone under that age.
- We're not a sportsbook. LineScout shows odds and analytics for research and entertainment. We don't take bets, hold money, or profit from any wager.
- No guarantees. No data, model, or line movement predicts an outcome. Past results never guarantee future ones.
Healthy habits
- Set a budget before you start, and treat it like the cost of entertainment — money you're fully prepared to lose.
- Set a time limit too. Betting shouldn't crowd out the rest of your life.
- Never chase losses. Trying to win back what you've lost is the fastest way to lose more.
- Don't bet under the influence or when you're upset, bored, or stressed.
- Never borrow to bet, and don't use money meant for rent, bills, food, or family.
Warning signs
It may be time to step back and reach out for support if you find yourself:
- Spending more time or money on betting than you intended
- Chasing losses or betting to recover money
- Lying to friends or family about how much you bet
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back
- Betting to escape worry, guilt, or low mood
- Borrowing money or neglecting responsibilities to keep betting
If any of these feel familiar, you don't have to sort it out alone. Reaching out early makes a real difference — call or text 1-800-522-4700 any time.
